Cozumel, Mexico
Although it’s a wildly popular cruise ship destination, the ambiance in Cozumel is more serene and authentic than in other Mexican hotspots.
Located off the Yucatan Peninsula, this vibrant Caribbean island gives you the option of experiencing soothing R&R or full-on excitement. The west side of Cozumel is more developed – where the most-visited beaches and bustling tourist spots can be found. But head over to the island's east side for a quieter tropical experience.
If you crave culture, explore the fascinating ruins of San Gervasio – one of the few remaining archaeological sites on the island. Rent a car or scooter, cruise along scenic coastal roads, or take a 45-minute ferry ride to Playa del Carmen. You’ll also find plenty to experience not far from where your cruise ship ports. Head into downtown San Miguel for incredible shopping and enticing cuisine. And if you love snorkeling or scuba diving, the surrounding waters provide the best spots in the Caribbean for exploring underwater.
